A Day in Door County, Writing Prose & Poems
January 1, 1970
Hello, again! Now that I've got this "newsletter" how-to figured out, I want to share some info about a workshop I'll be teaching at The Clearing on Friday, October 3rd. It's called "Keeping it Real: Poems and Prose," and is a bit of what I teach there in my week-long fiction class when we practice transforming personal experiences (our own and others') into written material through writing exercises and imagination games. Students will emerge from this workshop with completed poems and solid ideas for stories. The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the fee ($90) includes a catered lunch. If you've been thinking of coming for "Writing Personal Fiction" but would like a hint of what that's like, this is a good opportunity to enjoy the splendor of autumn in Door County and have a really fun day of writing, besides. Contact www.theclearing.org to register.About NIGHT SISTERS, "Publisher's Weekly" featured a review in this week's issue which I've pasted on my NS page. It's a splendid review -- hope you check it out.
